A few days ago, I was told to write something useful on my blog. The comment came like a punch from Mike Tyson and I remembered seeing twinkle, twinkle many stars. After regaining my composure, I immediately keyed in "useful" in the GOOGLE sitting above my neck and hit "[ENTER]", "[ENTER]", "[ENTER]". A millionth of a second later, 3 separate windows popped up with the same message "Your search for USEFUL returned 0 results. Find more information about this topic at Imatightass.com." Unsatisfied, I opened the Blogger homepage and read the fine prints under Terms of Service, Privacy and Content Policy, but sadly the only "use" I found was - "Easy to use. It's easy to post text, photos, and videos from the web or your mobile phone". Staring blankly into "B" in the neon orange box and strumming my fingers on the table, I felt completely lost. What are the useful things to write about? I wondered.
2 months ago when I excitedly announced that I was starting a blog, a friend said "What is there to write about? I dont like to showcase my everyday life to the public". Another friend said," why dont you write a scientific article?". And a professor said,"blogging takes away your time because you have to update it everyday. Why not put your time to good use? Like, think about your research". I swear I felt the urge to project a beam of ruby-coloured concussive force at them like Cyclops. And I finally thoroughly appreciate the concept of superlatives in the English language that day; A is a tight ass, B has a tighter ass and C has the tightest ass that nothing can get through. Are your friends not supposed to be supporting you unconditionally?
What do you do to unwind? There are probably a septillion things to do and I happen to like penning down my thoughts after so many years of faking all the others whenever I am required to declare. We often become the benchmark which we measure everyone against. But in the relativistic Einsteinian world, I would like to think of us as those acrobats inching cautiously on the high wire of duality, balancing ourselves with the pole of morality and can free fall at anytime. Nothing is absolute. One man's meat is another man's poison. I consider myself open minded and liberal. Did you just snort? Ok, to a certain extent, loose. But life is hard, why make it any harder to the person next to you? Live and let live!
Useful?
